Our most complete 10 Days Rajasthan Tour covers four legendary cities, four distinct characters, and ten unhurried days to experience them all. It is the one circuit that doesn't ask you to choose between the lakes of Udaipur and the dunes of Jaisalmer, or between Jaipur's bazaars and Jodhpur's fort-top sunsets. Ten days is enough time to see all four of Rajasthan's defining cities properly – not rushed, not compressed into half-days, but given the time each deserves.
The itinerary follows a deliberate geographic logic. From Jaipur, we travel south-west to Udaipur via Pushkar, giving the trip a gentle, scenic opening arc. From Udaipur, we travel north to Jodhpur via the extraordinary Ranakpur Jain temples, and from Jodhpur, we continue further west into the Thar Desert to Jaisalmer – ending the circuit at its most remote and atmospheric point, with a sunrise over the dunes as your final morning in Rajasthan.
Arrive by road, train or flight; our representative meets you and assists with hotel check-in. In the afternoon, begin with the still-occupied City Palace and the UNESCO-listed Jantar Mantar observatory beside it. In the evening, see the Hawa Mahal glow rose-gold at dusk, then browse Johari Bazar for jewelry and textiles.
Ride the elephant ramp or take a jeep to Amber Fort, then explore the mirrored Sheesh Mahal and the Diwan-e-Aam. Drive into the Aravalli hills to Nahargarh Fort for sweeping views over the Pink City, then visit the Albert Hall Museum, Rajasthan's oldest, with miniature paintings and a natural history collection.
A 3-hour drive to the sacred lakeside town of Pushkar, with its Brahma Temple – one of the very few in the world dedicated to this deity – and the ghats around the holy lake. Continue south to Udaipur (approx. 4 hours), arriving in the evening to check into your lakeside hotel, then take a relaxed sunset walk along Gangaur Ghat.
Visit the City Palace Udaipur, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, with eleven interconnected courtyards. Take a Lake Pichola boat ride, passing close to the Taj Lake Palace and Jag Mandir island, then head up to the hilltop Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace for the best panoramic sunset over the lakes.
En route to Jodhpur, stop at the 15th-century Ranakpur Jain Temples and their 1,444 individually carved marble pillars, one of the most extraordinary interiors in India. Continue to Jodhpur (combined drive approx. 5–6 hours) and check in below Mehrangarh Fort, with a rooftop dinner overlooking the fort the ideal close to the day.
Explore Mehrangarh Fort, widely considered the finest example of Rajput military architecture, with royal apartments preserved as they were last occupied. Visit the serene white-marble cenotaph of Jaswant Thada, then the museum wing of Umaid Bhawan Palace before wandering the blue-washed lanes of the old city.
A 290-km drive further west into the Thar Desert (approx. 5 hours), the landscape steadily thinning into open desert. Check into your Jaisalmer hotel, with an optional evening walk near Gadisar Lake introducing you to the Golden City at dusk.
Explore Jaisalmer Fort, the only living fort-city in India, including the Jain temple complex inside. See Patwon-ki Haveli and Nathmal-ji-ki Haveli, two of the city's most intricately carved merchant mansions, and close with a relaxed walk at Gadisar Lake as the golden walls catch the last light.
A short morning excursion to the mysterious 13th-century abandoned village of Kuldhara. In the afternoon, take a 1.5 to 2-hour camel safari to the Sam Sand Dunes, timed for the golden hour. Overnight at a desert camp with a Rajasthani thali dinner, bonfire and live folk music under an open desert sky.
An early start rewards you with one of the most peaceful sunrises in Rajasthan. Return to town for breakfast, then transfer to Jaisalmer airport or railway station for your onward journey. The tour concludes.

Best time of year: October through February offers the most comfortable conditions, with cool mornings ideal for fort exploration and pleasant evenings on Lake Pichola. November and December nights at the Sam Sand Dunes camp can drop close to freezing, so warm layers are essential. March and April bring rising heat, particularly in Jaisalmer.
How the driving days are structured: Four of the ten days involve meaningful road travel – Jaipur to Udaipur via Pushkar (roughly 400 km combined), Udaipur to Jodhpur via Ranakpur (roughly 270 km), and Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (a further 290 km). None of these drives exceed six hours, and each is broken up with a scenic or culturally significant stop.
Pacing & comfort: We build natural rest points into the itinerary, with Udaipur's slower rhythm giving a midpoint pause before the more demanding Jodhpur-to-Jaisalmer stretch. Accommodation grade is the main lever for cost and comfort – Budget uses well-reviewed 3-star hotels and a standard camp, Comfort upgrades to 4-star and heritage properties, and Luxury places guests in 5-star palace hotels with premium tented camp accommodation.
